A registered massage therapist (RMT) massage clients’ muscles and other soft tissues using specific massaging techniques. They aim to reduce clients’ pain and help them regain or improve movement. A registered massage therapist may assist in the assessment of a range of motion and muscle strength and create a therapy plan to lead a client back to recovery.

Registered Massage Therapist Training Courses
An RMT requires formal training and completing either a college or university degree program. These programs can last 2 to 3 years to earn and takes 1 year to earn a certificate afterwards. Finally, you need to register with a massage therapy association (mentioned above). But in some provinces, you can join an association after completing an approved college or university program.
Useful Information About Being a Registered Massage Therapist
Once you have received a diploma/degree in massage therapy, you must successfully complete a CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario) certification examinations. This requires you to have a clean criminal record and you should not have any physical or mental conditions that may refrain your ability to practice massage therapy in a safe manner.
