1. Web developers

You could earn around $70,000 a year as a web developer. This is a hot career right now since almost every business in the world needs a website to effectively function in a global marketplace. If you love the design and enjoy technical challenges, then check out VCAD’s Graphic Design program, available at the college’s Calgary campus and Vancouver location. 

2. Multimedia artists and animators

Earn over $70,000 creating two- and three-dimensional models, moving images, and visual effects for TV, film, and video games. In VCAD’s 3D computer animation program in Calgary, you’ll learn from industry-experienced instructors and gain the skills to bring your ideas to life using state-of-the-art design software and your own imagination. 

3. Fashion designers

If you have a knack for creating unique fashions, footwear or other accessories then check out VCAD’s Fashion Design with Specialization in Marketing program. In this program, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of the practical and technical skills involved in pattern making, garment construction, and apparel production as well as focus on marketing, business, and fashion show production. By the end of the program, you will have a professional portfolio that could get your foot in the door of a well-paying career. On average, fashion designers earn up to $75,000. 

4. Architects

Architects plan and design houses, factories, office buildings, and other structures. If you like to doodle and draw, you could easily earn up to $80,000 a year or more when you add on a few more skills. VCAD’s Architecture Design and Technology program will teach you about the technical side of architectural design including construction details, modeling and rendering, and much more. This program is available at VCAD’s Calgary and Vancouver campuses

5. Industrial designers

Industrial designers can earn over $65,000 a year making products that people use every day, such as cars and children’s toys. To be successful in this career you need to combine art, business, and engineering skills all of which can be developed at VCAD’s Architecture Design and Technology program.
